About Us

Challenge has been servicing the commercial furniture, fitout and facility needs of government, private business and educational organisations for more than fourteen years.

Established in Melbourne as Challenge Business Furniture in 1998 by Managing Director, David Murphy, Challenge has experienced enormous growth and expansion over the ensuing years. In 2007 the company changed its name to Challenge Commercial Interiors to better reflect the wide range of products and services we have on offer. 2008 saw the addition of Challenge Commercial Building and Challenge Building Maintenance to the group to create a comprehensive, one stop shop for all commercial furniture, fitout and refurbishment needs.

Our customers are our life blood and at Challenge we pride ourselves on consistently achieving and exceeding the expectations of both our customers and ourselves. Service and flexibility are our mainstay and you’ll find that creating a positive and productive workplace environment for you is not just our business, it’s our promise. Whilst Melbourne based, our interstate capabilities are vast and Challenge currently looks after the needs of a number of multi-outlet nationwide customers. Our customers represent a diverse group of large and small Australian and international companies, as well as government departments and educational institutions. Some of these include:

Our Staff and Culture

At Challenge we believe in relationships not transactions and we operate in an environment that is built on honesty and openness. Each member of our team has been selected on the basis of the skills, knowledge and attributes that they bring to their role, as well as their acknowledgement of the values and behaviours that we aspire to as a company – service, teamwork and integrity. We value teamwork, realising the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and, as a team, have developed and adopted the Challenge 12 Points of Culture:

1. Commitment 7. Education
2. Ownership 8. Teamwork
3. Integrity 9. Balance
4. Excellence 10. Fun
5. Communication 11. Systems

These points form the foundation of our culture at Challenge and we work to them and at them every day.
